If you like the movie "Top Gun" you will love the Collins Aerospace Test and Training Instrumentation (T&TI) Engineering Department and the opportunities we have for you to develop our militarys future Air Combat Training (ACT) system with us. Collins Aerospace is a pioneer in the development and deployment of innovative communication solutions for government applications. T&TI Engineering is responsible for all product line and engineering tasks related to the design analysis test and certification of ACT systems (just like Top Gun) maturing products from concept phase through accreditation and factory production. Job Responsibilities The T&TI Systems Engineering team is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer. The candidate will be a participant in the full software systems development life cycle on an Agile development team with the responsibility of developing mission control software for test and training missions. Developers will write desktop applications in Java to command and control new technologies in fighter pilot training and may have opportunities to follow their developed systems all the way to deployment at military sites to participate in flight testing events with fighter aircraft. Basic Qualifications This position requires a Bachelors degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree 7 years of relevant experience is required. Must be a U.S. Citizen Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements Systems engineering experience (minimum 2 yrs) Adaptable to change enjoys learning new technologies and contributes to a positive work environment Ability to work well with others in a professional team environment Motivated self-starter with strong analytical skills Preferred Qualifications: Python 2 experience TCP/IP basics Linux basics MIL-STD-1553 background Co-Pilot scripting Knowledge of TCTSII products preferred C/C++ or Java experience ALM tools Agile scrum master certification preferred Active DoD security clearance preferredSalary Range: $80K -- $100K Minimum QualificationSystems Architecture and Engineering.
