<p>Job TitleProcessing Tech IIJob DescriptionHowmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Processing Tech II in our Torrance CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace headquartered in Torrance California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems and were the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines automobiles commercial transportation vehicles and construction and industrial equipment.Summary:The Processing Technician II is responsible for set-up operation and maintenance of miscellaneous plating machines processing of parts meeting print and specification requirements.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Operation: After setup by others operates various standard and specialized machines including but not limited to Hand Blast Auto blast Tumble DeBurr JenFab Hoist Sprin Dryer lube booth equipment and either Cetyl A or B.Setup: Operates equipment following setup completed by others and takes specific instructions to perform assigned operations.Blueprint Reading: Reads and interprets blueprints and specifications to perform assigned operations.Inspection: Inspect representative sample of each plating load to ensure proper coverage and adhesion. Will also measure plating thickness utilizing x-ray method and instruments such as micrometer magna-gage and dermitron.Material Handling: Performs related tasks in assigned departments including sorting parts to separate media defected parts FOD and uniformity. Additionally clean parts free of oil and grease per departmental specification.Teamwork/Training: Trains other operators as required and performs tasks of equal or lesser skill as assigned.Safety: Keeps the work area clean safe and orderly daily.Other: Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation Experience and Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED preferred.Minimum 1-2 years of manufacturing plating experience preferred.Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and gauges.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Working knowledge of manufacturing and quality processesEmployee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicants ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.Physical Demands:Must be able to lift/move 30 lbs. (may not exceed per EHS policies)Must be able to stand for long periods of timeReaching above and below stooping kneeling crouching and bending.Need to be able to wear safety steel toe shoes and walk around shop floor environment as needed.Be able to remove dangling jewelry for shop floor assigned tasks and wear hearing protection as needed.Benefits/Salary:The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package available day one of hire including health insurance (medical dental vision) excellent 401k matching program paid holidays and vacation.
