CAMP is part of the Hearst Business Media portfolio.Job SummaryThe AMSTAT senior management is searching for a self-motivated forward-thinking highly skilled data analyst with aircraft and business aviation domain knowledge. Your central responsibilities will be to serve as a domain expert able to support the AMSTAT research department and senior management with key critical decision-making information and ownership of key data gathering initiatives. Additionally as a data analyst you be part of a team looking to develop new lines of business for AMSTAT. ResponsibilitiesUnderstand AMSTAT research processes and look for improvement through process improvement and alternate and complementary data sources.Establish and maintain a key industry contact network among OEMs aircraft broker maintenance experts and others to help maintain domain expertise and to spot industry trends that may impact AMSTAT market research.Develop and maintain (non-technical) domain knowledge in major aircraft components driving marketability including airframes avionics engines maintenance and other key aircraft specifications.Develop and maintain a make model level database of key value drivers.Own gathering and quality analysis of key AMSTAT data sets including aircraft prices performance and operating cost data.Work with IT to design and develop data collection and management tools to manage gathered information.Engage withexisting AMSTAT databasesandmerge with business aviation trends to produce actionableinformation for decision makers.Providecompelling and detailed and interactive data visualizationsto communicate information.Provide expert analysis to drive new business initiatives.Keep up with technology trends and emerging best practices to consistently evolve current solutions.Creating appropriate documentation that allows stakeholders to understand the steps of the data analysis process and duplicate or replicate the analysis if necessary.Represent AMSTAT at trade shows to build network contacts grow industry knowledge and present data analysis findings.RequirementsStrong analytic inferencing critical thinking and creativity in problem solving.Strong networking and interpersonal skills.Able to multi-task multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Strong aptitude to pick up new tasks and learn new technologies quicklyExcellent oral and written communication skillsKnowledge of SQL and PL/SQL R or PythonStrong visualization skill set usingPower BI Tableau or other data visualizationplatformsStrong statistics backgroundA genuine interest in aviation and knowledgethe key functional elements systems and components of turbine aircraft a big plus.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color religion gender national origin age sexual orientation gender identity disability or veteran status EOE
