Corteva Agriscience is seeking students for full-time internships within our research and development organization in either Indianapolis Indiana or Newark Delaware. We offer students the opportunity to work closely with a senior scientist in an industrial setting and the students will have extensive opportunities to network across the company. It is desirable that students have past practical experience in a research environment generating data and have relevant computer skills. Students are encouraged to be creative and take initiative where appropriate while working with their supervisor. Students are expected to always operate in a safe and efficient manner. Essential to this internship are interpersonal organizational communication teamwork and time management skills.


Responsibilities - What Youll Do:


+ Participate in all phases of research including planning preparation calibration application evaluation and analysis with supervisor.


+ Work in a safe manner and embody Cortevas safety culture.


+ Demonstrate independent and creative thinking by making novel observations interpreting data and drawing sound scientific conclusions.


+ Present project reviews throughout the summer and a final poster before colleagues and peers.


Areas of Opportunity:


+ Analytical Chemistry: Participate in a project with our analytical chemistry team developing new technologies.


+ Environmental Fate/Environmental Exposure and Assessment: Participate in research projects focused on developing new technologies with our Environmental Fate or Environmental Exposure and Assessment groups.


+ Organic Chemistry: Participate in a research project focused on developing a new technology in identifying bound chemical species in environmental matrices with our Environmental Fate or Environmental Exposure and Assessment groups.


Qualifications


Qualifications - What Youll Bring:


+ Internships are available to students that are currently pursuing a Bachelors Masters or Doctorate degree in a relevant discipline. Students must have completed at least three years of undergraduate work before the start of the internship.


+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0


+ Must be able to relocate to either Indianapolis Indiana or Newark Delaware for the duration of the internship.


+ Must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week) for a 6 month period


Area Specific Qualifications:


+ Analytical Chemistry: Successfully completed two full years of undergraduate-level chemistry or related curriculum including associated laboratory courses.


+ Environmental Fate/Environmental Exposure and Assessment: Focus in analytical chemistry biochemistry biology environmental science and/or organic chemistry and successfully completed two full years of undergraduate-level curriculum including associated laboratory courses.


+ Organic Chemistry: Must have successfully completed at least four years of undergraduate-level organic/analytical chemistry curriculum including associated laboratory courses by the start of internship (M.S. and Ph.D. students are welcome to apply).
