Field IT Technical Systems and Fabrication Specialist
This is a complicated position request. We are looking for an individual with good Layer 1 and Layer 2 IT skills the ability to understand and manage AC/DC power systems and become proficient in onsite fabrication equipment.
MUST HAVE SKILLS (Most Important):
" (AC and DC) Power equipment installation grounding labeling and removal/ migration work.
" Power cable installation and cable identifying labeling troubleshooting and testing.
" Skilled and knowledgeable in AC and DC power.
" Skilled and knowledgeable in test and verification of (AC and DC) power circuits.
" Experienced in fiber optic handling and installation. Unless otherwise agreed to by Telecommunication/Skyward it shall be Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) or Certified Bisci Installer 1 and 2.
" Experienced in test/ turn up procedures and troubleshooting of fiber optic or copper connections.
" Experienced in using fiber/copper test equipment such as JDSU 5000i or similar EXFO test equipment.
" Cleaning and servicing single mode and multimode fiber circuits.
" Mechanical aptitude for working with machinery and equipment
" Valid U.S. driver s license
" Experience in operating CNC machines and 3D printers or a willingness to become qualified to operate in brand new state of the art fabrication technology.
" Experience in GSuite including Gmail Docs and Sheets.
" Experience with layer 2 LAN port connection and troubleshooting
" Experience managing or building LAN networks dark fiber installation and network traffic implementation
" 4G/5G network equipment setup and installation
" Interest in operating drones. Even better if applicant holds an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot license.
" Private pilot license
" Boating experience or interest in obtaining a small watercraft certification.
The Aviation Development Center for Skyward A Telecommunication Company is an advanced testing center for the integration of drones and automation into the Telecommunication 4G and 5G network. Our team is looking to add an individual with operational experience in managing small network systems that are often mobilized throughout eastern Oregon and western Washington State. The incumbent will be comfortable troubleshooting network systems racking and cabling new equipment managing power loading/troubleshooting of AC and DC systems and traveling between several locations to support our testing. The incumbent will also be tasked with assisting with monitoring and tracking the preventative maintenance of several of our mobile assets including vehicles trailers and a small watercraft. The position also requires the applicant to be willing to learn the skills necessary to operate our CNC and 3D printing equipment to support customization of our drone fleet with new technology and testing hardware.
The position will expose the applicant to a daily variety of activities that could include serving as a crewmember on our advanced watercraft acting as a visual observer during flight operations or installing and troubleshooting network equipment in the field. There will be an opportunity to train with and learn from a variety of skilled pilots that will help the applicant obtain their FAA Remote Pilot license if interested. There is also an opportunity to train and become a qualified operator on our watercraft.
" Certified fiber Optic Technician Certified Bicsi Installer (1 or 2) or industry equivalent will be considered with appropriate documentation.
" Associates degree in IT management or networking; B.S. preferred. Industry experience may be substituted for education requirements based on 3+ years of successful employment in appropriate field.
The position typically requires a Monday-Friday workweek from 7 am to 3 pm each day operating primarily from our Yacolt Washington campus. There will be events or activities at other sites that will require attendance and typically are less than 60 minutes of travel to those locations. All miles driven to locations away from Yacolt are reimbursable per the Tapfin/Fieldglass policies.
The team does operate outdoors and the applicant may be asked at times to assist with outdoor operations as needed which could lead to exposure to the sun wind light rain and temperatures ranging from 200F to 1000F.
Our team deploys to remote locations 2-3 times a year and may require travel to a remote location for 2-3 weeks to support field operations.
Office locations would include our Portland Oregon office or the remote site in Yacolt Washington.
