Job SummaryTheAircraft Structural Mechanicis responsible for providing repair services on a variety of helicopter structures. Preparing metals for installation formation shaping riveting and installing sheet metal onto aircraft. Sizing fitting and ensuring OEM customer and regulatory/quality standards are met for all repairs and maintenance. Reviewing interpreting and following blueprint and drawings is required. The ability to produce quality work in non-negotiable deadlines is part of this position.Principal AccountabilitiesFabrication of composite and metals forming shaping and riveting repairs to the AircraftPerforming structural repairs and overhauls on a variety of OEM approved productsRiveting of sheet metalReviews work required prepares inspection reports for estimatesReviews blueprints and drawings to determine requirements of jobsApplying information from air services bulletins technical documentation and CARs to various jobsUtilizing fixtures and jigs to repair damaged sheet metal sectionsTroubleshooting and ensuring required performance and standards of the repaired unit/piecesDevelop work methods procedures and standards if necessaryPlan organize and coordinate workProvide instruction guidance advice and feedback as requiredPerform regular cleaning and maintenance of machines and toolsRemoves installs opens closes aircraft equipment and panels as required.Other duties as assigned within classification.Knowledge and SkillsWorking knowledge of structural repair practices and procedures is preferred.Working knowledge of drawings blueprints maintenance instructions and other applicable technical directives is highly desired.Must be able to be respirator qualified.Knowledge of technical documents such as technical bulletins alert service bulletins etcWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.FAA A&P license preferred.Possession of a valid drivers license is necessary to obtain flight line driving privileges.Ability to read write speak and understand EnglishExperience and EducationCompletion of high school diploma or the equivalent is required..Minimum two years of Aircraft Sheetmetal experience.Structural experience on Bell products and fixtures preferred.Physical Requirements/Working EnvironmentCapable of performing tasks that frequently require lifting reaching bending walking pulling sitting standing crouching stooping kneeling and stretching for prolonged periods of time.Must be capable of performing tasks in cramped awkward and strained positions and/or climbing up and down ladders work platforms scaffolding and aircraft structures.Must be capable of carrying items up to 50 pounds or for heavier objects must seek assistance of other workers or weightlifting devices.Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment for HAZMAT operations.May be required to work night shifts.May work in Aircraft maintenance hangar or outside.May be exposed to extreme noise fumes airborne particles electrical shock hazards or work near moving parts vehicles or aircraft.Some domestic travel may be required.Job:Aviation / SupportTitle:Aircraft Structural MechanicLocation:UNITED STATES-ALABAMA-ANDALUSIARequisition ID:2002766DynCorp International is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities/Women/Individuals with Disabilities/Protected Veterans.
