We have the unique and significantrole to partner with NASA at Johnson Space Center (JSC) to be part of everyhuman spaceflight program the International Space Station (ISS) NASAs Orionspacecraft which will carry astronauts into deep space and Gateway theorbiting platform providing the home for astronauts to work and travel back andforth to the moons surface and serving as the platform for deep spaceexploration. From critical systems onthe ISS to enable astronauts to live and work in space; to performing advanceddevelopment for systems leading to deep space exploration; to being part of thefoundation for Gateway.

We also partner with NASA at JSCthe only NASA center in the United States to curate all astromaterial samplesreturned from exploration missions to perform curation services orbitaldebris analysis and basic research to further humankinds understanding of theorigins of our solar system.

Our long-term clientrelationship with NASA has led to the need for a Guidance Navigation andControl Engineer to work on the Gateway Power and Propulsion Element (PPE)and join ourteam with GeoControl Systems Inc. aJETS teammate company. Do you have the following skills?

The selected applicant will:
  • Directly interface with the NASA customer for Gateway PPE GN&C related activities for future Deep Space Gateway missions.
  • Provide general insight (monitor and evaluate contractor design) at technical meetings with contractor/subcontractors.
  • Oversee the design and development of GN&C models in the Trick-based PPE GN&C Simulation (NPGS).
  • Participate in the design and analysis of simulated vehicle flight performance of the integrated GN&C PPE system.
  • Provide Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) using the NPGS to verify PPE Integrated GN&C (IGN&C) requirements.
  • Review requirements concept of operations and system design specification documents.
  • Formally document the results of all design and analysis activities.
  • Perform other duties as required.

    RequiredEducation/Experience/Skills:

  • ABachelors degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school anda minimum of five (5) years of related engineering experience or a Mastersdegree from an accredited engineering school and four (4) years of relatedengineering experience or from an accredited engineering school and zero(0) years of related experience.

  • Skillsand experience should include:

  • Experiencewith spacecraft simulation modeling and analysis spacecraft GN&C systems.

  • Expertisewith spacecraft mission design and flight procedures.

  • Experiencewith Monte Carlo engineering analysis.

  • Theproven ability to solve complex total GN&C system and simulation problems.

  • Abilityto identify and resolve IGN&C performance related issues and to assistothers in the resolution of these issues.

  • Knowledgeof spacecraft GN&C IV&V

  • Excellentcommunication skills and the ability to work in a team environment consistingof NASA civil servants and various contractor employees.

    • RequisitionPreferences:

  • MS in Aerospace Engineering.
  • Strong guidance and control background.
  • Direct experience with the TRICK simulation architecture GN&C simulations C++ MATLAB/Simulink and Python.

    Work Environment
     Generally an office environment butcan involve inside or outside work depending on task.

    Physical Requirements
    Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). Mayrequire lifting and carrying up to25 lbs (5% of time).

    Standard office equipment (PC telephone printer etc.).

    Attendance
    Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peakperiods and surge requirements when required.
