SUMMARY

This position is responsible for overseeing and directing the human resources (HR) function of Administrative Investigations. Objectives are typically accomplished through subordinate management. In consultation with executive management develops and implements current annual and long-term schedule quality business and financial objectives for the functions and consults on the development of annual and long-term objectives for the Human Resources organization. Represents the organization with external contacts including business and non-business communities while ensuring strong leadership and business excellence is maintained. Interacts with executive-level management in the completion of job responsibilities.


DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure overall quality and consistency of all administrative investigations. Includes staging questions writing style and format. This would include review of all investigation reports as well as ongoing training updates and certification of those who are required to perform this function for the Company. Would also serve as an observer/mentor to those in process qualification;
  • Coordinate activities with Internal Audit (I/A). This may be work flowing to or from I/A and determination of best fit for ongoing investigations.
    • Manages all investigations that are within the jurisdiction of the HR department and/or as delegated by Legal or the VP of HR.
  • EEOC/OFCCP interface- including creation and monitoring of EEO-1 and AAP documents and verification of the underlying data;
  • Point person on all Legal requests for Preserve and Produce (P&P) orders coordinating efforts to locate documents request them and produce them in a complete and usable format;
  • Tracking and coordination of investigations with outside investigators
    • as assigned by outside counsel; and
    • Workers Compensation;
  • Interface with behavioral specialists- includes scheduling debrief preparation of appropriately protected out brief documents and calibration of expectations and cost-control/efficient use. Will include TAG and private resources;
  • Monitor employment laws at the state and federal levels ensuring that new employment laws and regulations are incorporated into GAs policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
  • Typically requires a bachelors degree in business administration or a related discipline and fifteen or more years of progressive professional experience in administrative investigations and HR compliance with at least eleven of those years managing related processes and personnel. Additional professional experience or formal training in these areas may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Must have extensive and detailed technical expertise and application of relevant principles theories and concepts.
  • Must be able to provide leadership and direction to staff and colleagues while representing the organization internally and externally as a spokesperson regarding human resources matters.
  • Must be customer focused and possess: (1) the ability to identify issues analyze and interpret data and develop innovative solutions to a variety of unusually complex problems using a high degree of independent judgment; (2) excellent analytical verbal and written communication skills to accurately document report and present findings to a variety of audiences including executive and senior management senior external parties and government agencies; (3) excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide others; (4) the ability to effectively and efficiently initiate plan budget and manage projects; and (5) good knowledge of computer applications and operations pertinent to the field.
  • Must be able to work on a self- initiated basis and lead in a team environment and able to work extended hours and travel as required.
