Under general supervision this position is responsible for ordering receiving storing and issuing tools machine tool fixtures and dies measuring devices support equipment materials and/or supplies in support of local and deployed locations. Takes periodic inventory ensuring item availability to fill incoming requisitions. Typically assignments are routine in nature but the ability to recognize deviations from accepted practice is required.
Basic computer knowledge
Receives stores and issues tools machine tool fixtures dies measuring devices materials and/or supplies. Supports local and deployed locations with tool related issues.
Assembles new tool kits and upgrades and maintains existing tool kits. Ensures accurate distribution and tracking of items;
Maintains database of issued damaged worn out or missing equipment. Researches and orders new or replacement tools.
Maintains shop supply inventory. Orders and stores required supplies.
Cleans oils and performs minor repair on equipment to maintain or upgrade equipment.
Remove calibrated materials and work closely with in-house calibration department.
May be responsible for storing transporting and disposing of hazardous material (HAZMAT).
Responsible for following company guidelines and observing all laws regulations and other applicable obligations. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
Other duties may be assigned as required.
Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two or more years progressive experience issuing maintaining and monitoring tools fixtures dies and related devices.
Must be customer focused and possess:
Basic familiarity with office and inventory/stock control software;
Full knowledge of material handling equipment handling and measuring tools;
Mechanical skills to maintain company and government owned tools fixtures dies and devices;
Skills to maintain company owned tools
Interpersonal skills and written communication skills to interface with employees and to accurately document
The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
Skills to maintain work flow within company departments
Basic mathematical interpersonal and written communication skills to interface with management and employees
Microsoft Suite experience
Knowledge of tools and equipment
