Programs Engineering & Test Summer College Intern

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Engineering Intern students at Gulfstream Aerospace in Programs, Engineering, & Test are considered to be an integral part of the Engineering staff, and as such, are provided with tasks that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating. Under guidance of the senior engineering staff, the students will be assigned to teams associated with Cabin Development, providing engineering design and certification of Gulfstream aircraft interiors and interior systems.
+ Preparation and modification of engineering drawings using both manual and computer-aided systems such as AutoCad or CATIA V5.
+ Provides technical assistance to engineering staff and contributes by completing discrete engineering tasks on schedule.
+ Using company procedures, applies engineering knowledge to resolve routine issues.
+ Miscellaneous technical data generation and analysis.
+ Support of component and full-scale aircraft prototype and test activities.
+ Interface with various internal organizations such as Production Engineering, Completions Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Product Support and Procurement as well as external suppliers.

Education and Experience Requirements
+ Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in one of the following disciplines:
+ Aerospace Engineering
+ Mechanical Engineering
+ Electrical Engineering
+ Materials Engineering
+ Computer Engineering
+ Human Factors Engineering
+ Masters or PhD in Engineering with a focus in one of the disciplines listed above
+ May 2018 graduates will also be considered
+ Minimum 3.0 cumulative gpa required and must be listed on the submitted resume. GPA must remain above a 3.0 in order to be considered for the internship position.
+ Preferred experience with Autocad, ProE, Catia, or Solidworks. Catia V5 preferred
+ Ability to convey technical concepts in both written and verbal formats.
+ Strong interpersonal skills.
+ Display maturity and a high level of professionalism.
+ Proven leadership skills on-campus or in a previous work atmosphere
+ Previous internship experience a plus
+ Must have reliable transportation to and from work for the duration of the internship.
+ Must be available to work at least 12 weeks during the months of May thru September
