POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe Project Engineer is responsible for all activities that are carried out to successfully complete an assigned project. An ideal candidate would take their project from directly interfacing with customers through design and manufacturing. Projects may range from composite or metallic tooling to production parts. The candidate follows Janicki Industries procedures standards and expectations. A successful Project Engineer may become eligible for role advancement in the Program Management job hierarchy with additional associated opportunities and responsibilities at the discretion of the management team.The following essential job functions are performed as a Project Engineer:Develops and executes high level and detailed project plansWorks directly with the customer technical team to determine detailed requirements and deliverablesCommunicates consults with and participates in Production and DesignDevelops and analyzes schedules and budgetsReports schedule progress regularly to the customerHelps to develop and release planning and purchases suppliesAbility to perform design and drafting tasks related to the processing of a requested productMaintains understanding of the product development and product realization processesMust work well under pressure meeting and completing multiple deadlines. Shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSDue to our ITAR and EAR regulations applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEA Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required. Education may be substituted with equivalent industry experience in aerospace marine or transportation industrial manufacturing.Recommend minimum of six months to 1.5 years experience in engineering professionMust have effective graphical verbal and written communication skills in the English languageExperience with SAP ERP Software is advantageousProficiency with Microsoft Office Software is requiredExperience with CATIA and NX or equivalent CAD software is requiredMinimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GEDMust have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English languageComposite Part fabrication process experienceLean manufacturing experienceComplex aircraft assembly experienceOTHER/GOALSSuccessfully run projects under multiple accounts to gain advanced skill in JI Business process including Design Project Planning Purchasing and Supplier ManagementBecome technically capable of training incoming Project Engineers and Project ManagersGain advanced technical product expertise in area of focusHighly capable in Management of non-standard tooling projects.MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USEDComputer printer fax machine phone.WORKING CONDITIONSMust be able to work at keyboard for extended periods of time. Must be able to perform physical tasks on the production floor on occasion. May involve use of tools or climbing on parts. Physical hazards such as being in the immediate area with forklifts and other heavy equipment unavoidable.
