CALIBRE is seeking an experienced automotive industry and former military technical recruiter to provide full spectrum Veteran and non-Veteran talent management services in support of a major automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and its franchise dealers throughout the United States to include Puerto Rico Alaska and Hawaii. This position requires travel.
Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct technical recruiting and outreach to attract pre-screen and place a diverse pool of after sales / fixed operations (dealership service and parts) talent of the highest quality. The individual selected for this opportunity will:
Be responsible for conducting outreach to identify and connect with a consistent and reliable stream of superior quality Veteran and non-Veteran talent who meet a set of established screening criteria.
Establish and maintain a close rapport with the active military transition centers the National Guard and Federal Reserve Components VA and DOL Local Veterans Employment Representatives and Disabled Veteran Outreach Specialists (LVRS/DVOPS).
Build and maintain a strong working relationship with the major vocational technical schools (e.g. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) / National Automotive Technician Education Foundation (NATEF) certified community college automotive technician programs Lincoln Tech UTI and WyoTech).
Establish and maintain a close working relationship with automotive franchise dealership management teams to maintain constant awareness of their talent needs and to ensure candidates who are sent for their consideration are interviewed promptly.
Conduct technical phone interviews of applicants to pre-qualify the best to become candidates for dealership consideration.
Attend auto shows career fairs technical school and military job fairs and graduation ceremonies as deemed appropriate by the Program Manager (PM) and Senior Technical Recruiter to identify and attract potential applicants.
Support the PM as required in developing routine status reports to the customer.
Perform administrative duties including records maintenance and report preparation using desktop and web-based programs and tools.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and capable of passing a National Agency Check (NAC).
Honorably discharged military Veteran
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in talent placement within the automotive industry
Demonstration of successful military recruiting experience (e.g. Army Gold Master Recruiter Badge or other Service equivalent)
Ability to correctly translate all career enlistment occupation codes periods of service and characterization of service / reenlistment codes on DD Form 214 / NGB Form 22.
Strong interpersonal oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in computers to include Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint).
Experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) on a daily basis.
High level of knowledge regarding the various federal state and local employment laws rules and regulations that govern HR recruiting placement and hiring activities.
Thorough knowledge of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) eligibility requirements and provisions of the Post 911 (Chapter 33) GI Bill and VA approved apprenticeship programs.
Knowledge of the VA Special Employer Incentive (SEI) Program and other Vocational Rehabilitation and Education (VR&E;) programs.
Knowledge of automotive systems at the ASE G1 Level (Engine Systems Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Manual Drive Train and Axles Suspension and Steering Brakes Electrical and Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning).
This position requires up to 60% travel to job fairs and other types of recruiting events.
Familiarity with all branches of the Armed Services to include the National Guard Federal Reserve Components and the U.S. Coast Guard.
Knowledge of the wide array of military specialties (e.g. avionics electronics electrical wheeled/tracked vehicles shipboard systems repair and power generation)
Experience in sourcing the HR talent requirements of automotive dealership service and parts operations.
Experience processing Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) applications
Experience using automotive tools test and diagnostic equipment.
Understanding of the various types of automotive diagnostic tools and protocols and Parameter Identification (PID) (e.g. OBD2 CAN bus Audi/VW ElsaPro JLR SDD)
Knowledge of the physical requirements of a Service Technician Service Consultant /Writer and Parts Specialist (and ability to measure if an applicant is capable of the related tasks during through technical interview)
Understanding of insurance liability requirements and how they impact candidates
Experience politely turning an applicant away when not best qualified to avoid repercussions and any complaints from disgruntled applicants
Knowledge of Visibility Software’s Cyber Recruiter Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or similar platform and ability to conduct data base searches posting of jobs resumes and leveraging the critical functions documentation tools and reporting capabilities
Knowledge of how to post jobs on talent management sites (e.g. Indeed VA VEC DOL and others)
Bachelors degree (preferred) from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience. (Other education commensurate experience and demonstrated ability of individual may be substituted.)
