Position Summary


The Business Finance Groups Aviation Consulting Practice Leader provides the leadership management and vision necessary to ensure that the Group has the sales strategy operational controls and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and ensure financial strength operating efficiency and resource retention. The successful RSS Leader accomplishes this through a respectful constructive and energetic style guided by the objectives of Jacobs.


The Aviation Consulting Practice assists owners and operators of U.S. airports with a variety of business and financial services including capital planning and funding business improvement financial forecasting and feasibility P3 strategic planning and tenant negotiations.

Responsible for growth of the practice and overall execution of services.

Industry expert in aviation consulting including; aviation financial consulting airport strategy and business planning and financial feasibility studies

Proven ability to communicate sensitive issues includes (technical and complex) verbally and written in a convincing manner that maintains and builds trust.

Responsible directly or through staff for project delivery the quality of services performed client satisfaction and the reputation of the Business Finance Group and the company in the marketplace.

Represent the Group and act as lead "client-care officer" through direct contact with every client and business partner.


99.


Coordinate work share with other offices in Jacobs to deliver globally integrated services.


99.


Build relationships within Jacobs to identify unique technical skills that can be delivered to the market.

Lead business development activities by presenting the organizations project capabilities establishing client relationships and procuring work.

Responsible for driving the Business Finance Aviation Consulting Practice to achieve and surpass sales profitability cash flow and forecast business goals and objectives.

Assist the Business Finance Group Leader with resource budgets (G&A) recruitment retention talent development and utilization of the talent pool.


99. Collaborate with the Business Finance Group Leader and group leadership team to execute infrastructure change and foster a success-oriented accountable environment within the Group.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


Growth and Sales


+


Leads national pursuits related to large or strategic practice programs.


+


Develop and execute strategic business plans in partnership with Sales Manager or Projects (MOPs) and subject matter experts identifying strategic markets clients and capabilities.


+


Lead and mentor staff in business development activities including opening game middle game and end game which includes guiding pursuit managers in developing win plans and go/no-go decisions for key and strategic pursuits.


+


Guide and hold accountable the project managers (PMs) and the staff in their respective marketing activities.


+


Develop and maintain relationships with clients.


+


Develop and maintain relationships with Strategic Consulting and Geography based outside and insides sales teams.


+


Coordinate operational sales strategies with the appropriate operational managers.


+


Develop a strategy for ranking pursuits to focus efforts and increase win percentages.


+


Talent Management


+


Promote BeyondZero and safety programs to create an incident- and injury-free culture.


+


Promote inclusion and diversity by making positive progress towards goals as well as develop and promote internal Jacobs programs within the practice.


+


Responsible for day-to-day management of assigned staff.


+


Optimizes the financial utilization of aligned resources.


+


Develops workforce plans in coordination with stakeholders; acts as hiring manager for required staff working in concert with others around established hiring plans; integrates new hires.


+


Stewards career development through basic skill development and sustainment growth opportunities and skill refinement


+


Coaches develops mentors staff to deliver superior results collectively and individually


+


Coordinates across Regions/Business Units/LOBs to optimize resource management and provide experience opportunities for staff


+


Communicates with aligned staff (i.e. regular team meetings and 1:1 meetings etc.)


+ Approves time and expense for aligned staff


Business Management


+


Ensures the practice replenishes itself with profitable new work in ever-increasing numbers.


+


Cost control by tracking where labor and nonlabor G&A is spent and why.


+


Responsible for maximizing the cash flow protecting the balance sheet by focusing on two principal areas: cash flow and write offs.


+


Works with MOPs and PMs to minimize risk and associated write offs.


+


Works with the practice management team to develop programs activities and other means for creating a culture that engages people in growth quality and passion for excellence.


+


Managing the performance on programs in accordance with "as sold metrics".


+ Works with Strategic Consulting and Geographic sales and operations to assess resource availability and assemble project teams.


Project Execution and Quality


+


Works with MOPs to ensure specific work plans are developed for all projects as part of the project delivery process. This requires monthly project updates at a minimum.


+


Reviews the people tools and processes for successful project execution and eliminate any gaps found.


+


Enforces contract negotiation protocols and maintain favorable contract terms for every contract.


+


Develop sustainable programs communication strategies and outreach efforts to build a culture of quality. Holding the management team directly accountable for poor execution of work especially if they fail to follow established policy and procedures.


+


Foster a culture of continuous improvement and delivery of uniquely superior value.


+


Establish a culture of quality that elevates the passion and commitment to excellence.


+


Act as the lead strategist and problem solver on difficult complex or critical problems in the operation.


+ Serves as a representative of Jacobs at meetings presentations and public hearings/reviews relative to assigned projects.


Qualifications


Experience/Requirements:


The Aviation Consulting Practice Leader must have excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated leadership and understanding of the aspects of stakeholder management; as well as successful experience working with both executive and intermediate levels of internal company and client organizations. The Aviation Consulting Practice Leader must possess exemplary written and presentation competence. A team builder he/she must have experience both leading and working as part of a team.


+ Bachelors Degree in Engineering Planning Business Administration Science or other disciplines relevant to Strategic Consulting.


+ Minimum 10 years of experience with large and medium Strategic Consulting projects.

+ Minimum 5 years of people management and development experience.

+ Ability to coordinate all phases of a project.
