Junior Technical Advisor

Jet Support Services, Inc. is seeking a well-qualified Junior Technical Advisor to be based at our Chicago, Illinois corporate headquarters.

Position Summary:

The mission of the Junior Technical Advisor is to provide direct administrative support to the Technical Advisor group, through various means. S/he endeavors to expand technical proficiency through continuous study of all applicable publications and materials related to the industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Acts as a communications coordinator via call triage and disseminates those calls among the Tech department based on client location and staff workload
  2. Assists Technical Advisor team with daily AOGs, in addition to minor unscheduled and routine events
  3. Possesses the ability to manage basic maintenance events, from start to finish; which includes but is not limited to, opening and maintaining a technical case, issuance of purchase orders, technical documentation gathering, part procurement and logistical follow up through JSSI Parts, etc.
  4. Assumes responsibility of a technical case from the Technical Advisor at key handover benchmarks AND performs similar tasks referenced in #3
  5. Analyzes invoices in accordance with the contract terms prior to submitting for Tech Management approval. These invoices can be tied to self-managed events OR events for which the Junior Technical Advisor has assumed responsibility. This includes client reimbursements.
  6. Capable of meeting key individual performance metrics and assists in helping others reach their departmental/individual goals
  7. Assists with the process of requesting quotes for major Airframe maintenance
  8. Communicate effectively both verbally and written with clients, service centers, OEMs and fellow co-workers

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Performs other responsibilities as assigned by Technical Services Management
  2. Assist with special projects for the Technical Services department

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Aviation Related)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management or related experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills to deal with the public and the aviation industry family
  • Ability to read and write articulately and analytically
  • Clear understanding of relevant technical skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong time management and organization skills
