Sr Aerospace Engineer / Must Have Clearance

Plano TX

Position Summary:

As a Sr. Aerospace Systems Engineer you will use first-principles thinking Systems engineers use a foundational understanding of physics combined with multi-disciplinary experience to develop and evaluate system capability to help steer a program s path forward. Systems Engineers are responsible for simulation and software development implementation testing and analysis to support a variety of vehicle types and configurations.

Major Job Activities:

• Develop Design Architecture and Technical Roadmap supporting Programs
• Lead simulation/software development and manage task delegation to team members
• Develop dynamic vehicle aerodynamic propulsion and hardware/sensor models
• Develop guidance algorithms to provide mission capability
• Design and tune controllers for vehicle stability and control
• Integrate a suite of sensor feedback for Navigation and Guidance algorithms development
• Analyze system performance capabilities sensitivities and issues using a variety of methods
• Support Growth of Aerospace Systems Functional Organization through mentoring and creation of process/technical resources
• Lead root-cause failure identification and resolution studies
• Create and Present design/results to internal and external customers
• Strategy and proposal support including technical scope cost schedule
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain DoD secret clearance; must be able to obtain additional clearances as required
• Bachelor s degree in Aerospace Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree with an emphasis on Control Theory (advanced degree preferred)
• 13+ years of experience in airborne flight control systems or related field
• 13+ years of experience using integrated sensor systems for guidance and/or navigation
• Demonstrated technical capability and problem solving in a variety of disciplines (Guidance Target State Estimation Navigation Control Theory Vehicle Modeling)
• Ability to translate technical vision direction tasking and status to multi-disciplinary team
• Fluency in MATLAB/Simulink and C++ for development and analysis
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products
• Demonstrated Behavioral Skills (Positive Attitude Mentoring Emotional Intelligence Teaming Delegation Strong Work Ethic)
• Ability to lead work and collaborate in a fast-paced agile development environment across multiple engineering disciplines
• Demonstrated Communication Skills (written verbal and presentation for internal and external customers
• Willingness and desire to train less experienced engineers via mentoring and/or technically focused training sessions

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with a variety of mission sensors (radar optical etc.) types modes and stabilization
• Familiarity with a variety of vehicle sensors (GPS Antenna IMU ADS etc.) types and modes
• Familiarity with a variety of tracker types
• Background in physics/rigid body dynamics

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• 13 Plus years of experience in airborne flight control systems
• 13+ years of experience using integrated sensor systems for guidance and/or navigation
• Demonstrated technical capability and problem solving in a variety of disciplines (Guidance Target State Estimation Navigation Control Theory Vehicle Modeling)
• Ability to translate technical vision direction tasking and status to multi-disciplinary team
• Fluency in MATLAB/Simulink and C++ for development and analysis
