Required to have and maintain telephone and reliable transportation to ensure on-call availability.Performs general maintenance work in the upkeep of fire facilities and equipment; cleans and washes walls and floors; cares for grounds around station; makes minor repairs; washes hangs and dries hose; washes cleans polishes maintains and tests apparatus and equipment.Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to airport operations and safety equipment as well as lighting heating and ventilating equipment.Irregular hours evenings or weekends 24-hour on-call availability and overtime are required.OTHER DUTIES:Assists in department supervisory and administrative activities as assigned.Assists in training new employees as assigned.Serves as a member of various employee committees.Other duties as assigned. High school diploma or GED required.Must be certified NREMT or NM State EMT and/or Firefighter I and II IFSAC.Experience:One (1) to three (3) years in airport operations aircraft firefighting and rescue airport safety or closely related field required.Certification Skills and Licenses:Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English.Current and valid Class A New Mexico Commercial Drivers License required.Computer literacy required.Certification required.EMT-B certification strongly preferred; first responder certification will be considered.AAAE/FAA Basic Airport Safety and Operations Specialist certification preferred; must be obtained within one year of employment.
