Description:This position reports directly to the Systems Engineering Manager for Air Commando Training and Support (ACTS) and performs systems engineering functions for C-130J CV-22 and other high fidelity Aircrew Training Devices (ATDs).
Candidate must have electrical or mechanical engineering background in flight simulator development along with systems engineering experience. This position will participate in the requirements development design implementation and test and acceptance phases of project life cycles related to trainer modifications. More specifically this position will be responsible for requirement verification to include evaluation of System Requirements Specification (SRS) artifacts and other development products (design implementation) against the specification and to verify that the requirements are well written and testable. This position is also responsible for creating acceptance test procedures that verify system requirements and arranges the labor schedules and equipment required for testing events. Candidate must have a good understanding of systems engineering approach to requirements validation processes and will be responsible for authoring and reviewing test engineering CDRLs. Will update and create regression testing procedures to minimize impacts to the device during modifications and device software discrepancy corrections. Coordinates and performs the testing of Design Request and Discrepancies prior to Government Software Load acceptance. Responsible for verifying that the software load used are under Configuration Managements control at all times. Maintains and tracks all generated Discrepancies.
Point of contact for the engineering subcontractor product deliveries configuration management and the customer for modification testing discrepancy resolution and rechecks. Will support controlled testing by customer with the intent to maintain control and generate/communicate actionable issues.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 9 years experience or equivalent education and experience.
Previous Hardware Systems or Test Engineering experience
Previous experience working on aircraft simulation devices
Previous computer experience in SW or HW design
Desired Skills:
Excellent organizational skills oral and written communications skills
Previous experience in designing FAA Level D capable simulators
Must be able to work flexible hours
