JOB SUMMARY:TechFlyte is a leading supplier of aeronautic professionals to premier aviation companies and is looking to hire top rate Avionics Technicians in the Smyrna TN area!AVIONICS TECHNICIAN HIGHLIGHTS: Total Compensation: Negotiable Location: Smyrna TN Duration: Direct HireAVIONICS TECHNICIAN DIRECT HIRE BENEFITS: Competitive wages with bonus potential 401(k) retirement program with generous company match Group health insurance and HAS Reimbursement program for on-the-job toolsAVIONICS TECHNICIAN ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Tests troubleshoots and repairs avionics equipment and electrical components with minimal supervision - including but not limited to: troubleshooting of installations and systems and complete functional testing of avionics and electrical systems Test troubleshoot and repair avionics equipment and accessories in the aircraft and on the bench Ability to identify and correct electronic failures in various airframes using hand tools test equipment technical documents and technical reference materials Communicate effectively with supervisors peers and manufacturers in a timely effective manner Ensure that repairs are done correctly and in accordance with procedures described in the companys FAA Repair Station Manual as well as with FAA Regulations and manufacturer instructions Possess and use sound judgement and technical aptitude to make fair decisions regarding job sequence and techniques troubleshooting and discrepancy resolutions - to maximize quality and adhere to agreed-upon deadlinesAVIONICS TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to perform basic tasks such as using hand tools soldering wiring repair and use of test equipment Must possess enough experience to work alone in a productive self-driven way but also be capable of working as part of team with other team members Must be able to proficiently read and interpret wiring diagrams aircraft blueprints and schematics Must be able to lift equipment and materials up to 50 pounds Must be able to climb ladders apply finger and hand dexterity in using hand tools be able to move around the shop/hanger area and within aircraft continuously throughout the workday Must have own tools Must have reliable transportation to and from job site Must be willing to submit to a drug screen background check and be in compliance with all FAA rules and regulationsAVIONICS TECHNICIAN EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required College/university degree or two years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics is preferred Minimum of one-year work experience in general aviation aircraft modification/completion/repair shop is required At least 5 years of successful avionics installation repair or maintenance experience with deep knowledge of Garmin Rockwell Collins Honeywell Avidyne Aspen Avionics Bendix-King and/or other leading avionics brands is preferred Preferred Credential: Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET) Certificate by National Center for Aerospace and Transportation Technologies (NCATT) A License is preferred Preferred Credential: FAA Licensed Pilot preferable with an Instrument RatingAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color religion sex national origin disability or veteran status.TechFlyte is an Equal Opportunity Employer
