Description Prince Georges County Department of Parks and Recreation Natural and Historical Resources Division is currently seeking an Airport Operations Specialist for the College Park Aviation Museum. Details of this position are listed below:Airport Operations Specialist $11.75-$16.80 (Depending on experience)Meet and greet public; answer questions about ground transportation lodging refueling aircraft parking ATC procedures accessing weather resources; refuel aircraft; assist with aircraft parking; fuel farm and runway inspections; cash handling and retail sales; act as a TSA designated "Alternate Security Coordinator"; monitor flight activities airfield and all airfield access points; log aircraft operations verify pilot credentials; perform minor maintenance related duties. College Degree preferred; over 18 years of age; pass a Dept. of Homeland Security background check; working knowledge of office machines (cash register radio) and computers; physically able to perform aircraft related duties- climbing refueling stands and pushing aircraft; previous experience at a public airport in retail sales and service; basic knowledge of general aviation aircraft and their operating environment preferred; possession of an FAA Student Pilot Certificate desirable; able to work a flexible schedule evenings and weekends; must possess a valid Maryland Drivers license.
