Description, duties, responsibilities
Establishes and promotes the maintenance of a safe accident free and healthy work environment. Duties include but are not limited to:
+ forrmulating general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company or plant personnel;
+ consulting with all departments on design and use of equipment shops fire prevention and safety program;
+ inspecting organization facilities to detect existing or potential accidents and health hazards and recommending corrective or preventative measures;
+ keeping managers and employees alerted as to the hazards of working with toxic fumes dangerous chemicals and other hazardous substances; participating in the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperating in the preparation of material and evidence;
+ overseeing the administration of workers compensation program including working with the insurance carrier to reduce lost employee time and eliminate unjust claims; chairing base safety committee; and the ability to comply with attendance/tardiness standards.
+ Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Excellent communication interpersonal and leadership skills.
+ Prior aviation experience and computer knowledge is desirable.
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before a diverse group of people;
+ Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and required FAA airport and/or Customs identification seals and authorizations.
+ Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
+ Able to continuously lift/pull/push 70 lbs.
