Description/Job SummaryNASC is looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to join our growing UAS Special Projects DivisionQA role: Assist in development of manufacturing plant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS). Ensure that Quality operations supporting product releases are efficient effective and meet target timeframes from both a compliance and business perspective.Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; Possess strong organizational and time management skills; Work under direct supervision and follow written instructions and techniques; Perform all other assigned duties as needed to support production.Inspection of products with the obligation to report and document findings. Other duties and tasks include but are not limited to:Filing / Indexing AS9100 QMS records; Filing / Indexing Supplier quality records/ Certificates of Conformance; Proof reading QMS documents; Creating and maintaining QMS information logbooks / databases; Scheduling OMS procedures for review; Tracking QMS document change requests through the approval process; Revising procedures work instructions and forms as required; Control and release Work Packages and Engineering Drawings / Specifications for manufacturing; Review and index completed manufacturing work packages; Preparing and distributing QMS meeting minutes; Supporting internal and external OMS audits ; Preparing / updating QMS and corporate notifications on Sharepoint; Editing QMS procedures on the NASC Sharepoint as directedResponsible for ensuring that products meet the established standards set by the company.Maintaining strong overall quality control of products made by the company and adhering to reliability performance and customer expectation.Required QualificationsTo qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in industry preferably in Aerospace/Aviation. Ability to stand bend or reach for long periods of time - Physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of moderately heavy materials up to 70 pounds; Experience using calipers micometers height gauge tape measure and other precision measuring tools. Ability to use precision measuring tools to inspect aircraft mechanical and electrical components . Must have effective planning and organizational skills with the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and recall. Candidate should also possess strong written oral interpersonal group and telephone communication skills. Technical skills include the ability to use Microsoft Word Excel and Power Point. Must have knowledge of the AS9100 standard and 2+ yrs. experience in aviation manufacturing is a plus.High School Diploma as a minimumDegree in related field preferred.Will need copy of degree or certification prior to employment.Certificate in Aviation Automotive or similar Technology preferredLean Six Sigma Certification and/or experience is a bonus.
