TEACHING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, AVIATION & SPACE
POSITION: The School of Educational Foundations, Leadership and Aviation within Oklahoma State University’s College of Education, Health and Aviation is seeking a Teaching Assistant Professor (Non-Tenure Track) in Aviation & Space.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary responsibility will be teaching in areas appropriate to the candidate’s expertise and the program needs. The assignment may include some research or outreach and service as determined by the School Head. Additional responsibilities may include serving as the primary accreditation and assessment resource to the school, college, and university for the Aviation & Space program. A normal teaching load for this position is eight courses per nine-month academic year. This position is assigned to the Stillwater campus; however, instructional opportunities may also include the Tulsa and Oklahoma City campuses.
GENERAL INFORMATION: Oklahoma State University is a comprehensive land-grant university with an enrollment of more than 23,000 students. The university offers 86 programs of study leading to a bachelor’s degree, 70 master’s programs and 46 programs at the doctoral levels at campuses in Stillwater and Tulsa. Stillwater (http://stillwaterchamber.org) is approximately 65 miles from both the Tulsa and Oklahoma City metropolitan areas. The program offers a B.S. in Aerospace Administration and Operations with options in Professional Pilot, Aviation Management, Technical Services Management, Aerospace Security, and Aerospace Logistics. Additionally, we offer an M.S. in Aviation and Space and an Ed.D. in Applied Educational Studies: Aviation.
QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications include an earned doctorate in an aviation- relevant area and a record of excellence in teaching. Candidates will have expertise in theories, technologies, and methods associated with collegiate flight training, as well as a demonstrated interest in the university’s land grant mission and a desire to make a positive impact on the community through academic and professional excellence.
