Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join our our team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining aircraft to ensure safety, compliance, and optimal performance. Our focus is on General Aviation aircraft. This includes single engine and light twin aircraft.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and scheduled maintenance on aircraft, including airframes, engines, and associated systems in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and industry standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying problems affecting aircraft performance or safety.
- Fabricate or modify parts using sheet metal techniques, welding, soldering, and hand tools to support repair or assembly tasks.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and aviation regulations during maintenance procedures.
- Collaborate with team members on aircraft assembly/disassembly projects and perform equipment repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Assist in calibration of precision instruments like micrometers and calipers to guarantee measurement accuracy during inspections.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing maintenance data and participating in process optimization efforts.
Qualifications
- A&P certification
- 1 - 3 years experience working as an A&P
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience relevant to aviation systems.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations governing aircraft maintenance procedures and safety standards.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, calipers, micrometers, ammeters, ohmmeters, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Experience working with airframes, sheet metal fabrication, assembly/disassembly processes, and equipment repair.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during inspections or repairs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills including root cause analysis for complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills for documenting work accurately and collaborating effectively within a team environment.
