Parker Meggitt a recent addition to Parker Hannifin is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets specializing in a wide range of products including power generation and conversion systems magnetics and sensors for extreme environments. Located in Milwaukie OR (in the Greater Portland Area) this site is within the Fire Safety and Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select aircraft and ground vehicle markets spanning business jet narrow body wide body and fighter jet platforms as well as military ground vehicles. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world including Airbus Boeing Embraer Lockheed Martin and Raytheon among others.

Position Summary

The Continuous Improvement Specialist has the primary responsibility for the development and deployment of the tools methods and processes that make up the Parker Lean system (PLS). Ability to lead and facilitate lean kaizen events to drive business performance improvement. Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Essential Functions

Coordinates and allocates the daily continuous improvement activities to meet company objectives

Collects analyzes and reports product data and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement

Utilizes the teams knowledge to drive improvements and best practices

Recommends solutions to complex problems and implements corrective actions

Effectively applies improvement initiatives for all related activities in the facility

Manages training and skills enhancement for all employees with respect to continuous improvement tools and techniques

Provides technical expertise and implements lean principles techniques and methods

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Engineering Manufacturing or comparable discipline is required.

Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 2 or more years experience utilizing continuous improvement principles (e.g. lean manufacturing) total quality and problem-solving tools.

Thorough knowledge of continuous improvement principles and philosophies in business and/or manufacturing operations.

Ability to lead and implement continuous improvement principles and techniques

Ability to apply mathematical and analytical skills and to quantify results

Ability to research and analyze data effectively

Ability to gather data compile information and prepare reports

Excellence verbal and written communication skills

Presentation skills

Ability to influence stakeholders

Well-organized detail-oriented and ability to multi-task

Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision in order to meet deadlines

Strong prioritization skills

Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically

Ability to train and communicate effectively with team members project teams and management
