The Coastal Database Administrator will provide science stewardship and support services for the Stennis Space Center MS location of the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI). The Coastal Database Administrator will develop data products and services that incorporate the contributions and serve the needs of the diverse stakeholder community for the Coastal Data Development (CDD) Program Gulf of Mexico Restoration Coastal Ecosystems Sustainability Tourism and the RESTORE Act Science Program.
+ Manage databases of collected environmental data
+ Spatially enable scientific content
+ Generate web-services and link database content to coastal ocean applications
+ Report on technical status and database health and operations
+ Selected applicants will be required to complete a federal government background investigation and be cleared to work at a NASA facility.
+ Must be a US Citizen
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Science or a related technical field
+ Familiar with Oracle and/or Postgres
+ Strong technical writing and oral communication skills
+ Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
+ Experience with ArcGIS for Server and SQL
