Aerospace Engineer – Houghton MIJob Type: Full‑timeThe Aerospace Engineer will join Orbions world class team to lead and execute projects dedicated toward R&D testing and mass production of spacecraft electric propulsion systems.ResponsibilitiesPerform design engineering and team leadership efforts by leveraging established plans schedules budgets designs and proceduresFormulate and implement electric propulsion system development activities including laboratory testing data analysis and engineering documentationExecute system requirement verification efforts and test campaigns including but not limited to receiving inspections acceptance tests and qualification testsLead efforts with suppliers and manufacturing shops to source flight components custom tooling piece‑parts and sub‑assembliesPerform other duties as assignedMinimum RequirementsMust meet definition of US PersonBachelors degree in an Aerospace Engineering Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Physics or a directly related degree2–5 years experience in a design engineering and production environmentA solid understanding of applicable engineering principles business practices and experience working directly with hardwareAbility to collaborate in a team setting as well as be an active individual contributorGreat communication skills technical depth breadth and passion will enable you to work effectively with cross‑functional (electrical mechanical software system test) product development teamsPreferred QualificationsA solid understanding of applicable engineering principles business practices and experience working directly with hardware in the aerospace industryExperience with production drawings configuration management and GD&TExperience with modeling tools including creating solid models as well as executing and interpreting structural thermal fluid and magnetic field modelsPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of standing on concrete surfaces and at times sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift/carry up to 40‑pound loads from floor level to chest levelManual dexterity to evaluate install and modify equipmentFine motor skills required for minute adjustmentsAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to sex gender identity sexual orientation race color religion national origin disability protected veteran status age or any other characteristic protected by state or local law.#J-18808-Ljbffr
