Description, duties, responsibilities
Responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, minor inspections and repairs on aircraft, engines and accessories.
Removal, reinstallation and rigging of reciprocating, turbo-prop and turbo-fan engines.
Perform aircraft system operational checks and engine runs for troubleshooting, inspections and routine maintenance.
Inspect aircraft in accordance with OEM light/heavy aircraft manufacture recommended inspection programs.
Evaluate removed components for serviceability and document discrepancies.
Troubleshoot and repair airframe systems as required (i.e. hydraulics, electrical, mechanical, etc.).
Document all work accomplished in a clear, concise and accurate manner while adhering to all current FAA regulations.
Reinstall and test components after completed inspection.
Complete service bulletins and airworthiness directives, as required on all types of aircraft.
Employ safe practices at all times and participate in general Hangar housekeeping.
Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The following functions may be performed in variable weather and environmental conditions such as jet engine fumes, dust or jet engine noise. Must have ability to:
Regularly walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Read, write and fluently speak and understand the English language.
Read and interpret safety rules, installation, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
Write defect and repair statements.
Perform simple math calculations and apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
Wear uniform and insignia as prescribed by the Company.
Report to work in a regular and timely manner.

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid FAA Airframe and PowerPlant license preferred, or in process of obtaining valid license
Aviation training preferred. This training may take the form of military training, aeronautical academy or technical school training, and/or an Aviation Associates Degree.
Previous general aviation experience preferred.
Must have proven mechanical and technical aptitude.
Must have proven experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to give technical advice, work with personnel from other departments, and advise supervision on matters affecting the assigned work.
Must possess a valid state drivers license.
Must have basic computer skills.
