SUMMARY:

Monitors all aspects of parts department operations and interfaces with maintenance and accounting to insure proper functions of parts department by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Comply with the Locations attendance/tardiness standards.
Assists with Parts Over-the-Counter Sales by quoting parts to customers by phone, email, and fax.
Quote all parts for MRO.
Receive and invoice all direct shipments to customer. Invoice all sales orders shipped. Compiles invoices, account statements, reports and other records.
Inspects all material received for proper quantity, description, condition, and documentation according to purchase orders, drawings, manufacturers specifications, FAA regulations, and/or other specifications. Inspects all incoming products and consumables as described in the Repair Station and Quality Control Manual.
Receive and stock parts into appropriate inventory locations. Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and post totals to inventory records.
Maintains proper inventory levels to support maintenance operations and outside customer support.
Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.
Responsible for tracking sales and/or counter transactions. Prepares reports such as inventory balances, price lists and shortages.
Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjust errors in computations or count or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies, and computes inventory balance, price, and cost.
Prepares list of depleted items and recommends survey of defective or unusable items.
Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions.
Computes and records charges, refunds, costs of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, and similar items.
Responsible for purchasing activities and related documents.
Assists maintenance department with special projects and quotes.
Assists accounting department as requested with receivables and payables.
Deals with vendors and manufactures to obtain the best possible discounts on parts and services. Processes vendor invoices in Corridor and reconciling vendor invoices. Assists vendors in processing past 30 invoices.
Works with maintenance customers and outside customers on any problems that may arise concerning parts and service.
Plans layout of inventory room, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial action to resolve discrepancies.
Responsible for Inventory Room and Parts Sales Office general appearance.
Observes all safety, environmental, and general housekeeping rules and policies.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commission, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Business and accounting training is desirable. Computer background with understanding of operation. One to two years of aviation background is desirable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are represented of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms. The employee must be occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
