Overview

Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Aerospace on-site in Manchester CT. Part of the Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM)/EA Patten team supporting two EAP sites located in Manchester and Columbia Connecticut. The role focuses on leadership of manufacturing and project engineering teams to support a high-volume aerospace business and to align with site and division strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Manufacturing and Project Engineering teams in Columbia and Manchester CT to deliver high-quality technical support for the aerospace business focusing on accountability efficiency and learning; support site and division strategies and initiatives.
• Create and maintain manufacturing procedures and processes; establish and enhance machining methods and tooling required for production; maintain accurate manufacturing standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing operations to develop a world-class operating system.
• Identify capital requirements to improve current processes.
• Develop and implement a cross-training plan to maintain workforce skill levels (CNC programming machine automation sheet metal fabrication); conduct employee performance reviews and development discussions.
• Lead efforts to identify root causes and promote problem-solving continuous improvement (Kaizen/lean); implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions; reduce scrap and rework costs.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Manufacturing Aerospace or Systems Engineering or related technical field
• Six+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or equivalent
• Three+ years in a managerial/leadership role within manufacturing
• Ability to research compile and analyze data for reports and decision making
• Strong working knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean tools and methodologies
• Experience in machining metal forming or complex assembly is a plus
