Job Title: Senior FMS Aerospace General Engineer Job Description: This position supports MQ-9 FMS Development and Production programs. The successful candidate serves as engineering support for multi-specialty teams achieving results specified by program leadership in aircraft research development production and lifecycle acquisition and sustainment activities; provide technical assistance as required to resolve engineering and maintenance concerns; monitor aircraft and component Contractor-generated technical data technical manuals and engineering changes for technical accuracy and adequacy; and perform other typical engineering related program office functions. Responsible for engineering support to oversee and manage investigations and analysis of LOA related aerospace systems. Prepare comprehensive reports dealing with such factors as airworthiness static strength service life major repairs economic feasibility and impact and technical adequacy of proposals. Provide recommendations with supporting rationale to resolve technical issues. Performs directs analyzes and oversees aeronautical and/or mechanical design and redesign efforts. Supports USG-internal meetings Case Financial and Program Management Reviews (PMRs) and annual case reviews. Countries require extensive documentation (more than 700+) to obtain an airworthiness certification in their country for this system. An aerospace engineer will provide insight and oversight to program development as well as help with expediting the required USAF data that will be required to go through FDO before being released to the OEM and/or the country. There is a critical and urgent need for engineering support to expedite the required technical data and efforts to deliver the aircraft requested by the country. Successful candidate will have a background in and understand the Air Worthiness process. Provide expertise in development and sustaining engineering support for the weapon system sub-systems and provide advisory and draft documentation support for the development and acquisition of new capabilities and upgrades to existing capabilities to meet requirements to include quick reaction capabilities. Provide support to program technical interchange meetings program management reviews executive management reviews test-related meetings (TRB SRB TRR TPWGs etc.) lab and flight test events integrated product team meetings software/hardware design reviews (i.e. PDR CDR FDR etc.) platform integration meetings and meetings as otherwise required. Provide assistance to the PM by analyzing operational requirements evolving requirements or deficiencies investigating and recommending potential solutions evaluating Contractor proposed design changes and solutions overseeing the correction of deficiencies and in general by providing engineering support to address any technical issues affecting all aspects of overall weapons system integration capability or performance improvements and supportability/sustainability. Required Skills/Education: Possess a Masters degree in a field relevant to their functional area and must have a minimum ten (10) years experience in their functional area; or a relevant Bachelors degree and eighteen (18) years of work experience. At a minimum at least five years of experience must have been performed on DoD programs/projects. Level III APDE certification in SPRDE and experience in aircraft development and production programs are highly desired.
