SUMMARY:

National Aviation Services is looking for dedicated Floor Technicians to perform airport janitorial functions at the DEN - Denver International Airport. A Floor Care Technician is responsible for the specialized cleaning and maintenance of hard surface floors and carpeted areas ensuring they are clean safe and presentable at all times. This role requires expertise in using various floor care equipment chemicals and techniques to maintain flooring in high-traffic environments such as terminals gates restrooms and common areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Perform routine and scheduled floor care including: Stripping waxing and buffing hard floors; Carpet extraction shampooing and spot cleaning; Burnishing and sealing various floor surfaces
  • Operate and maintain equipment such as auto scrubbers buffers burnishers carpet extractors and wet/dry vacuums
  • Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA and manufacturer guidelines
  • Monitor and inspect floors for cleanliness damage or safety hazards and report issues promptly
  • Follow all airport security safety and environmental protocols
  • Maintain janitorial closets and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
  • Communicate with supervisors regarding supply needs and maintenance issues
  • Support general janitorial tasks as needed including restroom maintenance and trash removal
  • Other duties may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.   • Must secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges if applicable
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA) if applicable
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as airports never close
  • Work overtime on short notice in emergencies or when operationally necessary
  • Applicable valid drivers license as required by airport authority in order to operate a vehicle or equipment.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • High school education or GED
  • 3 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE ABILITY:
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATERIALS USED:
  • Uses specialized cleaning solutions and materials; uses equipment such as ladders mops brushes floor machine waxer/buffer vacuum cleaner and brooms. May drive golf cart or pick van.
