Job Description

Model Based Design Embedded Avionics Software Engineer

DESCRIPTION: As part of a small passionate and accomplished team of experts you will develop customized Simulink hardware support packages and manage target board racks to support Processor-In-Loop (PIL) verification for autonomous guidance and control systems. You may also provide Enterprise System support for Linux git and continuous build systems for the Autonomy team. You will share in the team s impact on verification of launch vehicle flight software. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support all aspects of launch vehicle fluid control software application verification including:

Developing customized Simulink hardware support packages for PIL verification

Installing configuring and maintaining PIL hardware target racks

Configuring maintaining and using Docker Containers

Reviewing and customizing Simulink code generation configurations

Analyzing and modifying Simulink code generation configuration settings

Improving source code interfaces between application avionics support software layers

Managing continuous build server jobs to track application performance metrics

Assisting with administration of common Linux compute resources

Monitoring and troubleshooting Monte Carlo automatic build jobs

Providing other verification and development support as directed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

M.S. in computer science aerospace electrical mechanical or related engineering with 5+ years of model-based design and embedded avionics experience.

Advanced or developer-level proficiency in Simulink MATLAB Embedded Coder and custom hardware support packages (e.g. ARM Cortex Xilinx platforms)

Advanced skills in embedded C or C++ programming and software development

Docker proficiency (admin level preferred)

Linux proficiency (admin level preferred)

Git and GitLab proficiency (admin level preferred)

Highly organized and capable of planning and guiding complex technical work.

Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.

Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired

10+ years of experience in model-based design and embedded avionics

Experience verifying application software following DO-178B/C or similar standards

Experience with rockets missiles or other aerospace vehicle systems

Background in control systems dynamics fluid mechanics thermodynamics
