The person selected may telework up to the maximum extent possible up to and including full time until it is safe to relocate.Learn more about this agencyResponsibilitiesThe NAS Operations Manager (NOM) is recognized as the principal expert for the development of workable solutions for unanticipated situations adversely affecting operationally critical systems of the NAS. Serves as a senior project manager or team leader for large challenging and complex work activities. Technical decisions are considered authoritative in area of expertise. Represents the FAA as a senior technical authority for major agency activities emerging technologies and customer concerns. Maintains the highest degree of technical knowledge on integrated systems within a broad area of expertise. Responsible for establishing and managing program goals and objectives and formulating project plans. Identifies procures distributes and tracks resources needed to accomplish large work activities. Works with customers at high internal and external organization levels to the FAA to resolve complex issues to ensure the integrity of the NAS. Represents the FAA as a senior technical authority for major agency activities emerging technologies and customer concerns. Coordinates with multiple air traffic entities to shut down and restore facilities systems and services to prevent activities from disrupting air traffic operations. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents) Designated or Random Drug Testing required. This position requires 24/7 rotating shifts Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.QualificationsTo qualify for this position candidates must show experience at the level of difficulty and responsibility that demonstrates an extensive knowledge of and experience in technology system interrelationships and management of civilian or military automated aviation navigation and electronics systems. Generally experience at the next lower level pay band I/level IV or equivalent meets the minimum qualifications for this position as long as the experience supports the demonstrated abilities.Eligible applicants meeting the minimum qualification requirements and selective factor(s) if applicable may be further evaluated on the Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSA) and Demonstrated Abilities listed in the announcement.
