SUMMARY: Maintenance Controllers report directly to the Maintenance Control Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Coordinate and plan maintenance activities and provide technical support on their assigned shift
  • Coordinate en-route maintenance activities, conducted by Contract Agencies or Individuals on all in-service aircraft (aircraft not in Scheduled Maintenance)
  • Ensure Contract Maintenance is properly briefed and understands the nature of the problem to be worked, as well as the USA Jet Policies and Procedures for Maintenance Activities
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with current FARs, the USA Jet General Maintenance Manual, or other Technical Data Acceptable to the Administrator
  • Provide Technical Assistance to all Maintenance Activities
  • Monitor all DMIs to ensure DMI Time Limits are not exceeded
  • Monitor, update, and verify aircraft status; report aircraft status changes as they occur to Flight Following
  • Responsible for the planning/scheduling of all airframe, line engine maintenance/inspections, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, corrosion program requirements, scheduled modifications to terminate airworthiness directives, and mandatory replacement items
  • Responsible for assembling all Aircraft Maintenance/Inspection Packages, to include compliance with all applicable AD Notes, Mandatory Modifications, Corrosion Program requirements, and Carry-Overs
  • Responsible to actively participate in USA Jet Safety Programs and Safety Management System. Required to report all safety concerns in a timely manner. Required to ensure that they and their co-workers are performing their functions in the safest possible manner. Required to follow the standards of the Occupational Safety and Health organization with legal authority at the location at which they are working
  • Other duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must be a Federal Aviation Adminstration Airframe & Powerplant licensed mechanic.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Minimum two years related experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to read prints and check color coded equipment while working on aircraft installations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office, occasionally outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
