Quality objectives are to:
Prevent customer escapes by driving focused performance and accountability across the team.
Drive down customer cost by providing cross training of existing workforce and development of new inspection talent.
Comply with FAA, and DCMA standards, applicable laws, and company policies.
In this position the ideal candidate will be accountable for the following:
Provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of project quality plans to increase efficiency without impacting Quality requirements.
Improve internal inspection and test processes to reduce and prevent defects and prevent quality escapes to our customers.
Assist with immediate risk containment measures and systemic mistake proof solutions to improve quality, cost, and delivery commitments to customers.
Provide clear direction and communication to ensure compliance to the Collective Bargaining Agreement and Company Policies and Procedures.
Primary responsibilities include:
Leading cell in ensuring product and process compliance by providing Inspectors with guidance and direction with regards to quality systems and requirements.
Working closely with Operations Management team to meet short term customer delivery commits while implementing resource planning strategies in support of long term demands.
Providing leadership in solving value stream quality challenges by driving the implementation of new inspection technologies that achieve process, reliability, and productivity improvements to ensure cell and site success and customer satisfaction.
Attracting, developing, and mentoring diverse talent in Operations Quality to improve competency of skill sets through cross training, while ensuring overtime, and productivity goals are met.
Driving product and process improvement that ensure Quality metric goals are met (Escapes/COPQ/Scrap/Rework/Process Cert).
Driving a culture of continuous improvement through the use of ACE tools to implement change that sustains ACE Gold performance and supports the site.
Creating a safe work environment by promoting a safe culture and driving EH&S improvements that reduce ergonomic and other injury risks on inspection processes.
Basic Required Experience
+ 4-7+ years experience in quality required, of which at least 3 years should be in Quality Administration or Engineering.
+ An understanding of Quality Procedures, Quality Management Systems, AS9100 and Regulatory Agency Requirements.
+ Strong leadership skills
+ Ability to clearly communicate expectations to direct reports.
+ Desire to implement positive change utilizing teaming and Continuous Improvement Tools.
Preferred Required Experience
+ Working knowledge of FAA regulatory requirements for repair stations (FAR 145 including knowledge of FAR 21, 43, and 121 subpart L) and experience working with government aviation authorities preferred.
+ Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management and external customers (DCMA, FAA, etc.).
+ Knowledge and experience with Six Sigma and/or process control tools.
+ Experience in using ACE tools to make process improvements in a manufacturing environment.
+ Ability to lead projects, develop, and mentor other leaders.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Possess the ability to facilitate and motivate teams.
