Airport Manager – Vermilion Regional Airport Authority (VRAA)

Location: Danville, IL (KDNV)
Salary Range: $75,000 – $95,000 per year

The Vermilion Regional Airport Authority (VRAA) is seeking an experienced Airport Manager to oversee operations at our regional county airport in Danville, IL. This leadership role requires strong management, operational, and financial oversight skills to ensure the airport's continued success and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Staff & Contractor Management: Recruit, hire, and lead airport personnel, as well as oversee external contractors, suppliers, and airport projects.
• Operations & Maintenance: Ensure the safety, upkeep, and maintenance of all airport buildings, assets, and infrastructure.
• Financial Oversight: Manage the airport budget, track expenditures, and optimize financial performance.
• Lease & Contract Negotiations: Handle lease agreements, tenant relations, and contractor bids for projects and services.
• Regulatory Compliance: Maintain high safety standards and compliance with aeronautical regulations.
• Public & Government Relations: Communicate effectively with VIPs, government officials, airport visitors, and the Board of Commissioners.
• Project Management: Oversee multiple projects, maintenance schedules, and inspections with attention to detail.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the aeronautical industry.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• High level of professionalism, inclusivity, and integrity.
• Experience in financial management and contract negotiations.

Compensation & Benefits:

Vermilion Regional Airport Company Overview

The Vermilion Regional Airport was completed and opened for business in 1948. VRA is a publicly owned, public use, General Aviation Airport located in Vermilion County 4 miles NE of the City of Danville, Illinois. The Airport provides over 2 miles of paved surface with 3 Runways, one of which is over 6000 ft. long and another that is a Turf runway with a 150 foot wide surface. Taxiways, and Roadways with lighting and NAV systems. A Full Service FBO provides Jet A fuel and 100LL fuel at competitive prices.
