Viasat is looking for an experienced Receiving Inspector to join our Corporate Quality team. As a key member of the team under limited supervision you will be responsible for performing incoming inspection on a variety of complex and difficult electro-mechanical products consisting of fabricated parts cables and sub-assemblies. Your attention to detail will assist as you will follow general inspection guidelines to conduct critical non-routine visual dimensional mechanical electrical test and functional inspections on a wide variety of components assemblies equipment systems supplies and materials. Your analytical and communication skills will be key as you will be responsible for entering inspection records in QMSS database and generating Non-conforming Material Reports (NMRs) for all defective material. This position will be a safety-sensitive position requiring a pre-employment drug screen to participate in our FAA Drug and Alcohol prevention program.
+ 7+ years of experience in a Receiving Inspector role.
+ Prior working experience with GD&T.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
+ Ability to read and interpret schematics drawings and engineering documentation.
+ Strong working knowledge of ANSI.Y.14.5 MIL-STD-105.
+ Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ US government position. US citizenship required.
+ Up to 25% domestic travel.
+ Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
+ Use of FARO Arms using the latest Software
+ FAA experience
+ FAA DMIR (Designated Manufacturing Inspection Representative)
+ Knowledge of e-mail and MRP systems.
+ IPC-A-610 or IPC/WHMA-A-620 experience.
+ Experience using sampling plans such as MIL-STD-105.
+ Familiarity with Aerospace procedures (AS9100).
+ Some applicable technical education.
