a.i. solutions is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for aerospace. This individual will have the opportunity to support one or more missions such as the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES) and the Magnetospheric Multiscale Mission (MMS). They will support teams performing spacecraft flight dynamics analyses ground system development simulations and operations support. This role will have to balance these responsibilities while interfacing with the customer and contributing to the teams overall schedule. This individual will have excellent communication skills a firm understanding of the physics and math of spaceflight and the ability to see system-wide connections. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace the a.i. solutions mission and work to continually exceed the expectations of our customers.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with existing team members and become fluent in flight dynamics concepts ground system software and other systems while building capability to support the missions
  • Support the software development and testing for the GOES flight dynamics ground system
  • Participate in training activities including simulations and test events to prepare for mission operations
  • Prepare missions operations documentation such as local operating procedures and operations handbooks
  • Contribute to solving complex trajectory maneuver planning and other operations-related problems and perform trade-off analyses of feasible options
  • Perform real-time operations including flight dynamics product generation and distribution maneuver planning reconstruction and calibration
  • Interface with the spacecraft flight operations team for maneuver planning activities collaborative analysis or spacecraft anomaly resolution
  • Document and communicate work to peers leadership and customers
  • Manage effective communications between customer team peers and management
  • Develop relationships with the customer and team members to ensure delivery or our corporate promise and overall successful mission support
  • Promote corporate culture and foster an environment of collaboration and innovation within the team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in aerospace engineering physics or a related technical discipline
  • Experience with software scripting development (e.g. MATLAB Python) and/or flight dynamics specific software experience (e.g. FreeFlyer)
  • Obtain successful completion of a government background check
  • U.S. citizenship

Desired Background:

  • Ability to quickly connect in-person and in writing and to actively listen and perceive the needs values or opinions of others
  • Proactivity in identifying and addressing challenges to include innovations that result in positive organizational impact
  • Experience with spacecraft navigation mission design and satellite operations/attitude determination
  • Experience with technical writing
