SummaryServes as a Mechanical Systems Engineer to design develop fabricate and test flight vehicle structures subsystems components and ground support equipment for suborbital and special orbital aerospace projects including recommending optimum configurations materials and analysis techniques. Learn more about this agency Responsibilities Coordinate the development of designs for large multi-purpose materials and structures projects. Develop complex mechanisms and mechanical systems. Conduct studies to analyze the dynamic response of the flight vehicle and its major components or the structural analysis test and flight certification of complex structural and mechanical aerospace systems. Mechanical aerospace engineering expert in the design development fabrication test checkout and readiness of advanced equipment systems or vehicles that involve new concepts and new or varied problems. Technical expert on the procedures methods and techniques used for test checkout and preparation of systems or hardware in areas such as flight systems fluid and flight mechanics or the fabrication or composition of materials and structures. Develop test plans conduct risk and safety analyses conduct tests and analyses and report test results. Serve as an advisor to manufacturers engineers management related organizations or contractor personnel giving authoritative advice relative to design fabrication analysis testing and evaluation. Consults with management and project personnel in preparing technical requirements and criteria for the development of facilities systems equipment or hardware. Develop new technologies for innovative test article design concepts and materials utilization.
