Boeing is seeking a Communications Specialist at its Boeing Japan office in Tokyo.

Position Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):

 Summary of Accountabilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the Boeing Japan communications manager (reporting manager), Boeing Japan country president, local leadership team and US teammates to support Boeing Japan with timely, effective and engaging communications.
  • Under the guidance of the Boeing Japan communications manager:
    -Support Boeing Japan with employee communications including employee meetings, leadership communications and stories for internal newsletters.
    -Draft content for external web site and social media channels in English and Japanese.
    -When necessary, use company equipment to take photos and videos for use internally and externally.
    -Engage and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders including media, customers and suppliers.

Basic Qualifications (Skill/Experience):

  • Demonstrate interest in building and expanding your career in corporate communications
  • Have basic monitoring skills in Japanese and English (Able to read Japanese articles and write English summaries)
  • Be familiar with writing social media posts and taking photos or videos
  • Strong passion for Boeing and Boeing’s products and services (both commercial and defense), and future airplane and aviation technologies.
  • Must be fluent in written and oral communications in both Japanese and English.
  • Experience working in a global and multicultural environment
  • Basic PC skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Have high ethical standards and share honest opinions transparently

Preferred Qualifications (Skills/Experience);

  • 3+ years of experience in internal and external communications
  • Experience working as a team player with many stakeholders at a global company
  • Have multitasking skills and able to work on several projects efficiently at the same time.

  • Pay and benefits are determined in line with Japan’s labor market practices.

The selected candidate will be required to work on-site (with some flex) at Boeing Japan’s Tokyo office.
