Aircraft Maintenance Technician (A&P)

Winchester, VA (KOKV) | Cirrus Authorized Service Center

As a Cirrus Authorized Service Center, our KOKV maintenance team focuses primarily on general aviation aircraft with reciprocating engines, with a significant emphasis on Cirrus Aircraft maintenance and support.

This role is hands-on and maintenance-driven, ideal for technicians who enjoy general aviation, owner-flown aircraft, and in-depth mechanical troubleshooting rather than heavy turbine or airline-style environments.

Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates. If you're an experienced A&P considering a move for the right long-term opportunity, we'd encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on customer-owned and transient general aviation aircraft, with the majority of work involving reciprocating engine platforms.
  • Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections in accordance with FAA regulations and manufacturer technical data.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, avionics, and aircraft systems discrepancies.
  • Remove, install, rig, and operationally check aircraft components and systems as required.
  • Accurately complete maintenance documentation, logbook entries, and work orders in compliance with FAA and company standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance outcomes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
  • Support AOG and priority maintenance needs as required.
  • Represent flyADVANCED professionally when interacting with aircraft owners, pilots, and fellow team members.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $25.00-$45.00 per hour, based on experience.
  • Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.
  • Sign-on bonus may be available for highly qualified applicants.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Opportunities for continued professional growth and development.

Qualifications

  • Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate in good standing.
  • General aviation maintenance experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience maintaining reciprocating engine aircraft is highly desirable.
  • Prior Cirrus Aircraft experience is a plus.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) is a plus.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply manufacturer maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical data.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical, electrical, avionics, hydraulic, and aircraft systems.
  • Possess a personal set of tools appropriate for general aviation aircraft maintenance.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and move throughout the hangar as required.
  • Willingness to work varying shifts, weekends, holidays, on-call, and standby as operationally required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, if required.
