The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a passionate Senior Subcontracts Specialist to join our Brisbane team.

Located in Brisbane CBD, the Senior Subcontracts Specialist is a key resource for providing contracting expertise and reside in Supply Chain Excellence (SCE) within the Supply Chain Management (SCM) Capability. The Senior Subcontracts Specialist will leverage extensive knowledge of subcontracting processes, compliance, and risk management to ensure that all activities align with organisational goals and regulatory requirements while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Subcontract Development:

    • Oversee the preparation of ProFormas and subcontracting documentation aligned to business requirements, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define subcontract requirements and specifications.

Strategic Sourcing:

    • Oversee strategic sourcing initiatives, including the identification, evaluation, and management of key and major suppliers.
    • Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with organizational goals and optimize supplier performance.

Process Improvement:

    • Continuously assess and improve subcontracting and sourcing processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects to optimize future subcontracting and sourcing efforts.

Supplier Management:

    • Supporting the development and monitoring of a comprehensive supplier management program to monitor supplier performance, compliance, and risk at a capability level.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to enhance relationships, drive innovation, and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Collaboration:

    • Work closely within SCM and the SCE team to align subcontracting and sourcing strategies with overall supply chain objectives.
    • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects, sharing insights and best practices to enhance supply chain performance.

Risk Management:

    • Identify and assess risks associated with subcontracting and supplier management activities and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure that all subcontracts include appropriate terms and conditions to protect the organizations interests.

Performance Monitoring:

    • Establish metrics and performance indicators to evaluate subcontractor and supplier performance and compliance.
    • Conduct regular reviews and audits of subcontractor and supplier performance, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.

Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact in SCE for internal and external stakeholders regarding subcontracting and sourcing support
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Training and Development:

    • Develop and deliver training programs for team members and other stakeholders on subcontracting and sourcing policies, procedures, and best practices.
    • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in subcontracting and procurement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Law, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in subcontract management, procurement, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of regulations, contract law, and other relevant procurement regulations.
  • Experience in developing and implementing Strategic Sourcing frameworks integrated with Category Management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
