Overview:
As the General Manager you are accountable to ensure that our YEG Fueling operations are operated safely and efficiently – in line with service level standards set for Safety Financial Performance Operational Performance and People Development – with a relentless focus on “safe” and “efficient” operations.
You will lead and direct a team of senior managers fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture within the Menzies Aviation – YEG Fueling organization.
You will influence and facilitate the consistent delivery of an “Excellence from take-off to touchdown” experience to our customers.
Main accountabilities include:
+ SAFETY LEADERSHIP: Encourage and sustain a safety-first culture in YEG through effective leadership and coaching of Station Mangers In-to-Plane Managers Tank Farm Managers and Safety Managers. Partner with HSE to live the “10 Golden Rules” – and not only exhibit personal safety behaviours but inspire others to do the same to continuously improve our safety practices that protect our People the Environment our Assets and our Reputation.
+ FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT: Consult with General Managers to develop and steward annual Operating Budgets and Capital Budgets. Deliver relevant and timely Safety Financial Operational and People Development updates to the SVP customers and stakeholders to provide insights and analysis that guide our decision making and action planning.
+ OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP: Accountable for the safe and efficient fueling operations in YEG through effective leadership and coaching of Station Managers In-to-Plane Managers and Tank Farm Managers. Provide updates to the SVP regarding issues and initiatives that may benefit the organization. Ensure all flight delays are investigated and course corrective action plans are implemented to provide our customers “Best-in-Class” On-Time Performance.
+ PEOPLE and LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: Develop a high-performance learning organization with targeted and sustainable Capability Development Plans to create the climate to enable and accelerate individual leadership and organizational capabilities. Identify and mentor future high potential employees within the organization and steward a robust Succession Plan for senior positions.
+ OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE: Lead a culture of collaboration continuous learning and continuous improvement – by creating the environment for sharing of learnings ideas and “best practices” to identify recommend streamline and implement processes designed to deliver “best-in-class” results.
+ RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: Effectively manage relationships with Menzies’ employees customers and stakeholders.
+ STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT: Effectively manage a variety of stakeholders including but not limited to: Airport Authorities Airlines Fuel Suppliers Government Agencies and Environmental Regulators.
+ COMPLIANCE: Ensure the safety and compliant operations of the Stations – working with Environmental Legal and Policy Departments as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
+ OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP: A strong track record as a manager and people leader. Experience in leading and building high-performance teams and driving for success – aligned with organizational goals. Experience in developing talent (10+ years’ experience).
+ SAFETY LEADERSHIP: Experience in building and sustaining a culture of safety within in a safety-sensitive environment – which prioritizes safety in the workplace (10+ years’ experience).
+ PLANNING and PERFORMANCE: Experience in managing business units with “full P&L” accountability (10+ years’ experience).
+ BULK LIQUID STORAGE and DISTRIBUTION: Strong knowledge and understanding of the petroleum storage and distribution industry (10+ years’ experience).
+ INVENTORY CONTROL and SCHEDULING: Experience in managing fuel scheduling supply logistics and inventory control (from multiple sources).
+ COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Excellent ability to utilize strong communication skills to understand and manage the demands of different parties and work collaboratively to ensure the completion of shared goals and objectives.
+ COMMERCIAL LITERACY: Strong experience in working closely with accounting and legal teams – with the ability to leverage knowledge skills and experience to make sound business judgments that benefit the organization our key stakeholders and our employees.
+ STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT: A strong track record in communicating with senior stakeholders – both inside and outside the organization. Strong ability to manage diverse and challenging stakeholder groups.
+ ORGANIZATION: Strong organizational and project management skills.

Education:
+ DEGREE: Must possess a degree in Business Engineering or a related discipline or 5+ years of relevant experience.
