The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Laboratory Technicianto support our Multiphysics and Test Team located in Seattle, WA. This position will focus on supporting the Applied Physics Applications Laboratory within the Multiphysics and Test Team.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including : Mid-Level and Senior Laboratory Technician.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support the Advanced Physics Applications (APA) Laboratory comprising a broad range of electrical and mechanical systems machining and prototyping, test and evaluation equipment, machine shops and associated lab safety protocols to support the work statement of the Advanced Physics Group and its customers

  • Work closely with engineering functions to understand, conceptualize, design, machine and implement / maintain experimental prototypes and test equipment, and associated capabilities for support and execution of the group’s work statement. 

  • This role requires close, daily engagement with the engineering team regarding all aspects of laboratory operations including daily planning, coordination and execution.

  • Additional tasks include purchasing of day-to-day essentials for running the lab, safe and efficient lab practices such as 5S and lab cleanliness, laboratory compliance requirements and of course, utmost focus on laboratory safety in alignment with Boeing Company and Boeing site safety and its policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Associates degree or higher, or equivalent combination of certifications, demonstrated experience

  • Experience with electrical and mechanical systems, test equipment, and maintenance practices and requirements

  • Hands-on experience with electrical box and, debug and bring-up in a lab environment, gathering data for technical performance measures and performing basic analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with evaluating parts, materials, processes, technology or equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability and adherence to requirements

  • Experience working in machine shop, prototyping and dynamic environment

  • Experience working in R & D prototyping environment

  • Experience working with multifunctional team

  • The ability to work and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams in this multi-disciplinary environment is essential.
