Jackson Jet Center, a Boise based Part 135/145 maintenance facility and FBO, is seeking a full time Avionics Technician. The Avionics Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, inspecting, and repairing aircraft avionics and electrical systems in accordance with FAA regulations, OEM specifications, and internal company standards. This role supports both scheduled maintenance and AOG (Aircraft on Ground) needs for corporate and general aviation aircraft.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform functional testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics systems, including communication, navigation, weather radar, autopilot, and compass systems.
  • Conduct 91.411/91.413 pitot-static and transponder checks.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and update avionics software and navigation databases, including Garmin G1000/3000, GTN series, Proline 21, and Honeywell APEX systems.
  • Assist with and perform STC installations on various aircraft platforms.
  • Interpret flight test data and technical documentation to identify and resolve avionics issues.
  • Complete all required documentation, logbook entries, and work order records accurately in a timely manner.
  • Use test equipment such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and circuit testers to verify performance and airworthiness.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Travel to offsite locations for AOG support as needed.
  • Participate in continuous training and development to maintain proficiency and certification eligibility.
  • Other related work, responsibilities, and duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in avionics installation, maintenance, or repair in a general or corporate aviation setting.
  • Experience with Proline 21 required; Honeywell APEX and Garmin systems strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and service manuals.
  • FCC license preferred; A&P certification and/or formal avionics training a plus.
  • Must own basic hand tools (a list of tools available by request).
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • 21 years of age or older, only if driving a company vehicle. Valid driver's license is also required.
  • No felonies, ability to obtain and maintain airport-issued security badge (SIDA).
