Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Test and Evaluation Engineering Manager (Level K) to join our team in Heath, Ohio.

In this role you will supervise a group of metrology engineers and a team of metrology specialists who provide technical procurement support to the engineering organization, driving equipment selection, vendor qualification, calibration strategy, and cost-effective sourcing. The ideal candidate combines hands-on metrology expertise with strong people-management skills, continuous-improvement focus, and the ability to partner closely with engineering, procurement, and quality teams to deliver timely, compliant, and measurable results.

Position Responsibilities:   

  • Manages from a first line leader perspective, develops and motivates employees.

  • Provides management over site of employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Test and Evaluation Engineering.

  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies in accordance with business strategy and execution procedures.

  • Acquires resources, provides technical management and leads process improvements.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

  • Ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

  • Has impact to own discipline or work unit.

  • Decision making skills that will impact the ability to achieve results and/or schedules.

  • Directs daily operations of the work unit.

  • Frequent contacts with internal personnel and external representatives concerning operations, scheduling or specific phases of projects or contracts.

  • Ability to accomplish results through non-management employees who may or may not exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments.

  • Skilled in advising a work unit regarding tasks, projects and operations.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement 

  • 3+ of years of experience with business acumen and systems thinking

  • 3+ years of experience leading key process, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Strong communication skills and customer focus

  • Experience in a role that required strong technical, analytical, and writing skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Masters Degree in Engineering or Business

  • 5+ years of management or team lead experience

  • Metrology Experience
