Insitu Pacific delivers industry-leading uncrewed aerial system (UAS) services to Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. Our expertise, operational experience, and knowledge has established Insitu Pacific as a key provider of end-to-end advanced multi-domain ISR solutions.

The Opportunity

The Business Development Manager - Maritime is responsible for identifying opportunities within the defined market segment throughout the Asia Pacific Region, preparing bids and proposals, and assisting with the development of business strategy for the growth of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to business growth by identifying possible new business opportunities by engaging customers and other stakeholders and undertaking market shaping activities.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and advice to any opportunities being addressed by the Business Development team.
  • Leads bids and proposals by coordinating various inputs providing networking and scheduling data and producing the total proposal.
  • Develops campaign strategies, customer contact and action plans, and provides formal briefings to senior management.
  • Assists with the development of business strategy by providing appropriate market data and up-to-date assessments of business opportunities.
  • Improves the profile of the business by maintaining contacts with existing and potential customers.
  • Contributes to the achievement of small projects by acting as a project manager and providing commercial advice to line management.
  • Represents Insitu Pacific at trade shows, conferences and industry functions as required.

Experience/ qualifications

Essential

  • Advanced technical education and 9 or more years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated business development or capture experience within the defence or government markets.
  • The ability to develop networks, relationships and create new business opportunities within a defined market segment.
  • Excellent understanding of engineering/technical concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian Defence Force procurement environment, processes and procedures.
  • Experience leading cross-functional capture teams, working within a multi-disciplinary team and contributing at a high level within the organisation.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and relationship management skills.

Desirable

  • Direct maritime domain experience and knowledge on the application of uncrewed systems within the military, para-military or commercial environment or a combination of these.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Experience of training and/or sustainment operations in defence or commercial environment.
  • Understanding of export compliance and related procedures.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements
  • Able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
  • You may require a Foreign Work Authorisation (FWA) in order to perform this role. This is not a requirement set or determined by Boeing but by the Department of Defence under laws issued in 2024. Please refer to the Department of Defence website to understand these requirements.
