The Boeing Company is seeking a skilled Associate Propulsion Analysis Engineer to contribute to the development and qualification of a new propulsion system for a cutting-edge fixed-wing program in Hazelwood, MO. In this role, you will be an integral part of a larger Flight Sciences team consisting of propulsion, aerodynamics, and guidance, navigation and controls.  As part of the propulsion team, you will contribute to inlet development, engine integration and controls, testing, and qualification efforts.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support the definition of requirements for propulsion systems within a model-based engineering environment

  • Support the definition of functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle

  • Support the configuration or design of propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all vehicle design and performance specifications

  • Support a range of testing, analysis, modeling, and simulation activities aimed at predicting and validating system performance

  • Support verification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components

  • Support the review, processing and approval of engine and component qualification documentation

  • Assist with propulsion ground and flight test planning

  • Work under general supervision

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

This position requires ability to obtain and maintain special program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 2+ years of work related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or work related experience with a Master’s degree

  • Understanding of the interactions between propulsion, aerodynamics, and flight controls as part of a collaborative Flight Sciences engineering team

  • Knowledge of internal and external flow characteristics related to inlets, nozzles, and engine operation with the capability to perform propulsion system analysis tasks

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
