OverviewThe Operations Manager Directs and coordinates all Ground Handling activities to provide safe and efficient services for customers by performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. the Operations Manager will be responsible for all Ramp and Passenger Services ensuring that the delivery of service is consistent professional safe and secure. This role requires a seasoned senior manager with a strong operational and business understanding and leadership skills. The incumbent must have the ability to run a business in a challenging environment whilst maintaining strict Menzies Corporate Governance and Financial guidelines.
Main accountabilities include:
+ Fully responsible for all aspects of the station. Services offered at the station include Ramp and Passenger Services.
+ Reviews data on incoming flights such as scheduled or estimated times of arrival or departure destinations and downline station stop in order to plan work activities.
+ Direct and coordinates all operations functions and ensures workers and equipment are available for all services.
+ Analyzes reports and records of operations and inspects facilities to determine effectiveness of existing methods and procedures and physical condition of facilities and equipment.
+ Prepares and submits recommendations designed to improve efficiency of all services.
+ Investigate causes of accidents and recommend safety measures to prevent further occurrences.
+ Leading and working with the senior team to maintain and enhance appropriate effective safety and security systems risk assessments periodical inspections and audits operational training programs planning operational processes and service delivery.
+ Regularly interacts with customers to promote the station and to measure the level of customer satisfaction.
+ Uses customer feedback to constantly develop and improve capabilities and processes.
+ Implementation of the company policies and procedures promoting sound safety security and people management practice.
+ Promoting and driving a ‘safety first’ culture through all levels of the organization.
+ Ensure the business unit remains fully compliant with internal standards and all relevant industry regulatory and state legislated requirement.
+ Lead and motivate hard working teams to deliver excellent quality and productivity.
+ Safety and security are the responsibility of each employee.
+ Required to attend the mandatory training imposed by the Company and Airlines as per job role.
+ Maintains all equipment records and monitors vehicle registration and hour meter program.
+ Determines work procedures prepares work schedules and expedites workflow.
+ Perform as a mentor to other employees and provide training to new employees.
+ Some responsibilities may include interviewing hiring and training employees appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems as needed for violations of company policy.
+ Complete shift reports.
+ Assist in the preparation of performance evaluation forms.
+ Prepare disciplinary incident and/or termination reports.
+ Conduct shift briefings to ensure staff is organized and informed.
+ Comply with the company’s attendance/tardiness standards.
+ Other duties may be assigned.

+ Inform their manager / supervisor of any work situation equipment or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger to health and safety.
+ Report any hazards near misses incidents accidents or dangerous occurrences to their manager/supervisor who will then follow the procedures contained in this manual.
+ Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific workplace health and safety rules or procedures.
+ Fully understand the company health and safety policy.
+ Attend training courses as may be arranged by the Company.
Qualifications and Experience
+ Excellent leadership and people management skills.
+ Extensive management and/or support service experience preferably in Ramp Handling and Customer Service.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills balanced with a high level of confidence to influence and present at all levels.
+ Interpersonal skills: Independence decisiveness and the ability to work accurately and independently of immediate support.
+ Able to influence engage and motivate at all levels.
+ Flexible determined to succeed and self-motivated.
+ All applicants must hold the requisite employment authority to work in the USA.
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
+ Must pass pre-employment physical and a drug screen.
+ Must have a current valid US driver’s license.
+ Ability to proficiently read write and speak English.
+ Able to remain calm under pressure.
+ Must be comfortable lifting 70lbs.
+ Must pass pre-employment drug screening FBI background check and obtain US Customs seal.
+ Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
