Description, duties, responsibilities
Main Accountabilities Include:
+ Ensuring that the on-time performance is respected in accordance with the station targets and the SLA’s agreed with the Airlines.
+ Supporting the development of the business unit with accurate and timely project work
+ Ensure all relevant operational safety and security standards are always respected and any failures observed are addressed with the staff at fault.
+ Act and represent the company as “Front Line” in front of all MA customers.
+ Liaising with the local Planning Team and monitoring the Daily Shift Plans.
+ Performing monthly SMART inspections in accordance with the station targets.
+ Ensure that the workplace is kept clean and tidy and the noise level is in accordance with the Health and Safety requirements.
+ Ensure that the service standards are maintained in accordance with the agreed Airlines SLA’s and any deficiencies are reported immediately to the Station Manager.
+ Ensure and take immediate action to prevent any irregularities in the conduct of business.
+ Always encourage the professional development of the subordinate employees.
+ Ensure the necessary resources are provided for the activity in terms of efficiency and safety while respecting the quality standards required by the company.
+ Informing the Department Manager about any disciplinary action that should be taken for the relevant staff in case of any kind of misconduct. On-spot discipline coaching and mentoring is also expected from you.
+ Suggesting any staff changes to the Line Manager or Station Manager in regards to any possible staff upgrade or downgrade.
+ Suggests and highlights new procedures (LOP’s) that can improve the work for all relevant employees in accordance with the MA and Airline requirements.
+ Identify gaps and/or changes required to policies SOP’s or other protocols and provide this information to the applicable Functional Managers of all relevant departments within the business unit.
+ Responsible for the accuracy and quality of all issued documentations.
+ Enforce good utilisation and maintenance of all relevant equipment by all subordinate employees.
+ Ensure that all subordinate employees are wearing the uniform in accordance with the MA Uniform and Appearance Policy.
+ Promote a culture of safe working within the Company.
+ Ensure the confidentiality of each accessed information and reports any incidents to the Line Manager and Safety and Security Manager.
+ Routine liaison with other handling agents customs immigration and security officials as well as YYZ airport stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:
+ 3 to 5 years management experience in the Airport Ground Handling business.
+ A proven track record in managing an operational department.
+ Experience in operational planning and resource allocation.
+ A working knowledge of GSE maintenance issues.
+ Understanding of the wider airport operational environment.
+ Experience and understanding of the commercial issues in aviation.
+ Experience of Health and Safety management.
+ Must be able to hold and maintain all required security clearances.
+ Must be able to work extended hours and flexible shifts when required which may include weekends and holidays.
+ Ability to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds when required.
+ Ability to support other stations as required and ensure all station responsibilities are covered when on leave.
